Develop or Sell? Old Colonial site clean-up underway; future uncertain
A Hot Springs-based developer of assisted living sites answered at least one of two questions buzzing about on Main Street in Nashville: Who's responsible for cleaning up the old Forest Health Care Nursing Home building site? Well the hard workers from Countryside Nursery are ones who cut down the overgrown bushes, trimmed the tree limbs, and opened the site up for public viewing. But as to who is responsible? That would be Michael Durbin. Durbin is the owner of Durbin Properties located in Hot Springs. His company bought the two-acre site located next to Sonic Drive-In on Highway 27 south for $300,000 in September. ``Its a good site and a good building - I'm surprised someone else didn't buy the property two or three years ago,'' Durbin said.
Kensington sees flood of candidates for 2 city council seats
KENSINGTON — Only two seats are vacant on the Kensington City Council, but three times as many residents have put a bid in for the seat. The six candidates, including both incumbents, will face the Feb. 27 primary election; only four will make it to the April 3 general election. Incumbent Bob Westbrook hasn’t heard any hot issues that would provoke so many people to run for city council in this Smith County town. "Basically, I didn’t think I wasn’t doing anything wrong because the last time Ken (Ellenberger) and I both ran, we had no opposition whatsoever," he said. "What I try to do for the city is in the best interest of the city." Westbrook, assistant manager at Country Corner, has had the position eight years, but will gladly welcome a new councilman if he’s defeated.

Still, if you do not fall into any of the above categories, you have at least heard stories about it. If that still does not apply, then continue reading to learn what you have missed out on. Oh, and maybe think about getting out more. That being said, most of you think you know a lot about the dorms, and you are probably right. Since people sometimes just like to complain, let's start with the disadvantages. First of all, the dorm rooms are tiny. There are also two, sometimes three, people crammed into one room, making privacy a thing of the past. Second, there is the dorm food.
